Who makes it, and what to know
Café is a brand of GE Appliances, which is owned by Haier and based in Louisville, Kentucky. It was a GE product line from 2007 and became a brand of its own in 2018, with its own store and its own warranty. The warranty is one year on the whole appliance; Café's spec sheet lists parts and no separate labor cover. On Café's site it scores 4.5 out of 5 across 510 owner reviews, and 31 of those (6%) are one star. The critical reviews we read describe steam and grease escaping above the door and leaving a brown mark on the white finish that does not clean off, and an interior that is hard to clean. Matte black hides that better than matte white. You buy from Café's own store, so delivery, returns and the warranty are Café's.
