Who makes it, and what to know
Smeg is an Italian appliance maker based in Guastalla, near Reggio Emilia; Vittorio Bertazzoni founded it in 1948. Smeg USA's warranty is two full years, parts, labor and in-home service. Smeg introduced the Portofino in 2016. The one we checked on Smeg's US site (CPF36UGMR) is dual fuel: gas burners over an electric oven, so it needs a gas line and a 240-volt, 20-amp circuit. It is not sold on Amazon: Smeg sells it through its own site and its dealers. The links on this page go to Smeg's own US store, so delivery, returns and the warranty are Smeg's.
