Who makes it, and what to know
Who actually makes this, because the name is misleading: it is not made, warranted or serviced by Frigidaire. The Frigidaire name is licensed from Electrolux to Curtis International, a Canadian company, and the Consumer Product Safety Commission names the factory as ShangYu North Electron in China. Frigidaire's own warranty does not apply, so if this one fails, calling Frigidaire reaches a company with no obligation to you. Safety: Curtis has recalled about 964,000 Frigidaire-branded minifridges for fire across two actions, in July 2025 and January 2026, with more than $700,000 of reported property damage. Those recalls cover the small EFMIS drinks-can fridges, not the retro EFR line linked here. Same company, same importer, different product. Check your model number at cpsc.gov. The warranty is repair or replacement at Curtis's choice, and you pay to ship the fridge back; claims go to Curtis by email or phone, not to the store. The freezer section has to be defrosted by hand when the ice reaches a quarter inch. The door can be reversed. The links on this page go to Amazon, so delivery and returns follow the Amazon seller's terms; the warranty is the maker's.
